Stop CERN?

There is a real risk that CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research) are putting our planet’s longevity in danger through ‘pushing the envelope’ on sub-atomic research with their Large Hadron Collider experiments, which started briefly last year but was postponed due to technical failures. It is scheduled to restart sometime in 2009.
Although the CERN propoganda machine states that ‘everything is safe’, several recent science papers back up the theory that these experiments are dangerous - the first by M. D. Maia & E. M. Monte, “On the Stability of Black Holes at the LHC”, published on Aug 19th 2008, a second by Prof. R. Plaga, “On the potential catastrophic risk from metastable quantum-black holes produced at particle colliders”, published on November 11th 2008.
There have been legal challenges in both the US and in Europe to try and stop these experiments from being undertaken, although neither have succeeded to date. In light of this, STOP CERN has registered as a petition to The European Parliament.
The reason for this petition is to ensure there is no danger to the longevity of planet Earth through accretion of non-relativistic MBH (micro black holes) created by head-on collision of particles at the Large Hadron Collider, which may, unlike any particles resultant from cosmic ray collisions get trapped in the Earth’s gravitational field due to their non-relativistic speed. We feel that CERN’s LSAG Report irresponsibly bases Large Hardron Collider safety on both the unproven Hawking Radiation theory, which has been disputed by many respected physicists, and a Neutron Star paradox which can be explained by a process of superfluidity. The request of this petition is to restrain CERN from operating the LHC above the known safe levels of 2 TeV until proof / evidence of Hawking Radiation is returned from natural black holes in space, evidence of which is expected to be returned from the GLAST telescope, which was launched earlier this year.
Debunking a few safety arguments in laymans terms:
THE MOSQUITO ANALOGY: A common argument used to dismiss the risks involved in the operations at the LHC, is that the overall energy/mass involved is these collisions is approximately that of a Mosquito hitting a window pane, such is the minute size of the particles involved. This is a knowingly misleading statement on their behalf. To use a more accurate analogy, it is not the mass of the needle which is important, but how sharp the tip is, and in this case the tip is incredibly sharp. The collisions at the LHC aim to rip apart sub-atomic particles in a manner which has never been achieved before, not even by controlled nuclear explosions. That they even try to side-step this glaringly obvious point shows that they are quite unwilling to open an honest debate on the true risks involved with the public. The small mass involved is also a deception, as the risk is of the catalytic effect of these sub-atomic explosions, not just the effect on the particles themselves.
THE COSMIC RAY ANALOGY: Another common argument used to dismiss LHC risks is that collisions of similar energy occur all the time with the Earth due to our bombardment by cosmic rays. This is again a misleading analogy. Bombardment by cosmic rays will always escape the Earth’s gravity due to their momentum - like pellets from a gun hitting cans on a wall will never aggregate on the wall. The difference with particle colliders, is that the pellets, to continue the analogy, are primed to hit the cans with equal energy from opposing sides simultaneously. In particle colliders, which are primed precisely enough for the pellets (particles) to meet head on within the cans (the LHC), they can counter-balance each other’s opposing momentum, and fall to land on the wall (the Earth’s gravity), where they accumulate.
